Click HERE to start with Judy Jackson's work on the Technique Junkie Design Team Blog to, then wind your way through our other designer's blogs to get back here. My card uses this issue's sketch with the Designer Souffle Technique and the Smooched Metal Technique. All of the stamps are from Stampin' Up!.

Okay, it is your turn to play! Simply check out the sketch in the newsletter, or check the online issue, and play along. Make sure to use a TJ technique on your card for your entry to be valid. June Blog Hop - Technique by Design

Welcome to the June 2010 Technique Junkie Newsletter Blog Hop! Today we are celebrating the June issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter, and the newest Technique by Design Sketch included within. If you arrived here from Gerrie's Blog, you most likely have seen all of the gorgeous artwork from the design team using the sketch, but if you haven't, you may want to restart the hop by jumping over to the Technique Junkie Design Team Blog.

My card uses the sketch with two of the techniques in this new June issue: Faux Metal and Pulled Glmmers. I think these two easy and versatile techniques will become two of YOUR favorites!

If you are a TJ subscriber, you probably know that the step-by-step picture tutorials and the sketch are accessible right now with your password. Just click  HERE, enter your user name and password and check out the sketch dimensions -- AND the other 15 techniques that this issue contains!

Now it's YOUR turn to try out this sketch.
Simply create a card using the sketch in this issue and post it to the TJ Yahoo group or email it to me directly, if you are not on the group. One card will be selected from all of the cards submitted (using my handy random number generator)on July 15th. The winner will receive a free year of the Technique Junkie Newsletter PLUS a $25.00 gift certificate from one of our featured vendors in the June Issue -- the vendor of your choice. Whether your wish is for stamps, paper, supplies or digi downloads, our advertising partners have you covered -- and you can choose your own prize!

Make sure to use ONE of the June technique on your card to be eligible for entry. You may submist two seperate entries for the drawing, but each must use different techniques on them. You must be a Technique Junkie Newsletter to play. I can't wait to see what you create!

Technique by Design Blog Hop-April

Today is the day for our Technique by Design Blog Hop featuring the sketch from the April 2010 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.  If this is your first stop, make sure that you start at the beginning at the Design Team Blog. The TJ designers have created artwork that is sure to inspire you! And, of course, there is a fun prize package for those of you who try the sketch, too!

For this interpretation of the sketch,  I used the Faux Velvet Technique from the current April 2010 issue for the large green part, Double Embossed Metal from the February 2010 issue for the panel on the left, and the Simple Whitewash Technique for the 2 thin green panels. On top of this is an image from Mark's Finest Papers -- our newest TJ advertiser. I love this frog, and I thought he was perfect for OUR HOP!

It's your turn to try the sketch! A word of caution, though, use the dimensions online, on the subscriber-only pages -- the dimensions on two of the pieces are misprinted in the paper issue. You can get there from HERE. (make sure to have your password handy). I will also send you a .pdf of the sketch dimensions if you email me, too (TJ subscribers only, sorry!). That way you can keep it with your printed piece.

Would I ever do a blog hop without a price package? NO! So this time around, create a card using the sketch and send it to the Technique Junkie egroup or post it to a public forum and email me the link. On May 15th, I will select one of the cards using the random number generator, and that person will win the prizes below:
  • One year added to their Technique Junkie Subscription AND
  • A $25.00 gift certificate to ONE vendor of their choice from this issue's participating advertisers: I Brake for Stamps; Paper Temptress; Firecracker Designs by Pamela; Mark's Finest Papers; Croppinsville; OR Twisted Papers! YOU get to choose the place to spend your cash!
You must be a Technique Junkie Member to enter a sketch card. Let's see what you can do...hop on over to your work area and get creatin'!

TJ Sketch Challenge Card #2

I love a well designed sketch, don't you? Even if it is my own challenge, and I can't win anything...I still love a challenge.  YOU can win, though -- you can become a Technique Junkie Subscriber for life by entering your own card! (Details of the Contest are on this Blog Post.) You do need to be a Technique Junkie though -- and if you aren't, maybe you should be! Only $9.00 for a trial, 3-issue subscription OR $9.99 for one full year (90 Tutorials!) of online-only access. In fact -- you can take an additional $1.00 off either of those prices if you mention the "Blog Sale" -- but that will only be good through Friday, so hurry. It's a good deal!

The card I have today is almost opposite of the first one I posted (in the blog post mentioned above). Where that was was soft and soothing, this one is garish and in-your-face. Bold colors. Bold attitude.

I used the Dabbed Shimmers (February 2010 issue) as the "A" Squares, the Double Embossed Metal (February 2010 issue) for the "C" Squares, and a technique I am considering using in the future for the "B" squares. The Leaf stamp behind the words is from Club Scrap, and the words are from Impression Obsession. I like this bold card.

I hope this card inspires you to try the sketch!

Technique by Design Blog Hop

Want to become a TECHNIQUE JUNKIE FOR LIFE?
Greetings! If you started here, you should know that we are having a BLOG HOP today to celebrate the introduction of the new Technique by Design feature being rolled out in the new February issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. You may want to take a couple of minutes to start at the beginning of the hop at the Design Team blog, here: http://techniquejunkies.blogspot.com/.

If this IS your final destination, you have come to the right place!

This issue marks our first this year of the Technique by Design feature -- and I am inviting YOU to play along! Simply follow the directions in the newsletter HERE (this is a password protected page - if you need your password for the issue, please feel free to email me) for using our sketch to design your card and send it to the Technique Junkie egroup, send it to me directly via email OR post it to a public forum and post the link using "Mr Linky" below. If you are using a forum other than the TJ group, please make sure to specify in the post that this is your entry for the Technique Junkie "Technique by Design" contest.   In order to qualify for the drawing, your card must use one Technique Junkie technique on it (from any issue of the newsletter). And you must be a Technique Junkie to enter this challenge contest.

On March 15th, I will randomly draw one of the cards using a random number generator. The lucky winner will become a TECHNIQUE JUNKIE FOR LIFE. That means you receive all the back cds and issues if you do not have them and then everything I publish from now on just gets automatically sent to you. As long as I am publishing the newsletter and CDs!

So get those cards in...I want to see what YOU do with the sketch!

Want to know how I made mine? I used three techniques: The "A" squares use the Antiqued Glimmers Technique (December 2009 TJNL), the "B" squares use the Herringbone Technique (December 2009 issue) and the "C" squares use the Double Embossed Metal Technique from the Current February 2010 issue. The top panel uses a gorgeous stamp from I Brake for Stamp's Time to Stamp collection. And the word Harmony is from a very very very old and retired Stampin' Up! set.

Here is where you post your link, if you are posting it to your blog or a public forum:

Thanks for playing along!
