Welcome to Day 25 of the Technique Junkie Newsletter month-long 10 year anniversary celebration. Today we are celebrating with a BIG giveaway!
A little about today's card. I used the Layered Goosebumps Technique from the October 2012 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter on this gorgeous image from Innovative Stamp Creations. I love how the Goosebumps mimics snow! I added a little Liquid Applique on the treetops, too, for added dimension.
The tree image is only one of today's giveaway. We have a whole grab bag of images to give away:
To win these wonderful stamps, simply leave a comment on this blog post with your email address. My random number generator will select one lucky winner on Friday October 26th. Good luck!
Congratulations to Christina Davey, the winner of this giveaway!

Birthday Bash: Day Three
Welcome to day three of our birthday bash! Today, our card and giveaway is all about the men. I don't know about you, but sometimes I have a hard time finding the right blend of images and techniques suitable for the menfolk in my life. I think this technique - Torn Holes from the October/November issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter -- pairs perfectly with the two stamps sets I am giving away today.
Yup, you read that right. Two stamp sets. Both are from Innovative Stamp Creations. The first one is Distressed Script, and is great for all kinds of backgrounds:
The second is called Men of Wisdom and has a plethora of sayings to go along with the stamps:
Okay, one of the reasons I chose these two together is because I thought the backgrounds would be great for some previous techniques. Can't you just see the Back-to-Back or It Takes Two techniques (from the August 2011Technique Junkie Newsletter issue) with these two?
Okay, so here is how you enter. Please leave a comment with your name and email address (PLEASE -- I cannot get your email address from blogger unless you specifically check off the box that says I can!) and my random number generator will pick one lucky winner tomorrow. Play along!
Update: Congratulations to Sandra W, who is the winner of this giveaway!

Try that Technique: Fossil Stone
Today's Try that Technique is Fossil Stone from the April 2006 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. Try that Technique is a feature started by Beth Norman and Diana Enns; each week a technique from a past issue is spotlighted and we encourage you to try it.
Fossil Stone is such an easy technique! If you have the 2006 issues or the Purple CD4 (2006), I encourage you to Try that Technique this week! Post your work on the TJ egroup or the TJ Design Team blog on Beth's post with a link HERE. You could win a week on the TJ home page!
A little about my card...first, the background is Fossil Stone, and it has been stamped with a definition background stamp from Innovative Stamp Creations. The gorgeous butterfly collage is from Alluring Impressions (make sure to enter TJAUG10 for 10% off at Alluring Impressions!), and was colored using the Ink Wash Technique (April 2007 Technique Junkie Newsletter). The card also has a bit of Wild Webbing, one of the 10 bonus techniques on the soon-to-be released CD8. Now, I didn't originally intend on adding the webbing to this piece, but I was looking for an accent...and it was sitting on my desk...and it just kind of attached itself to my piece. The colors were just too perfect together!
Don't forget to order your CD!
Oh - one more thing...after I finished making the card and photographed it, I realized that it is the exact same layout as yesterday's card. How could I not realize that until I was ready to post this?

August Sketch and Blog Hop!
Hi! Welcome to the final stop of the August 2010 Technique Junkie Newsletter Blog Hop. I hope you arrived here from Chris Dickinson's blog (and I hope her gorgeous Zig-Zag Accordion Card Inspired you!) , but if you didn't, take a minute or two to join us at the beginning of the Hop on the TJ Design Team Blog HERE. You won't want to miss all of the stunning artwork the designers have in store for you!
My card on the final leg of this stop uses the sketch from the August issue, of course. I used the Pencil and Ink Technique (also from the August Newsletter) for the top panel. I also used the Soft and Sparkly Technique in the middle of the flower on the front of the panel, too! I love how soft, pretty and feminine this card turned out! The Background with the Pencil and Ink uses the Engraved Flower stamp from Alluring Impressions. I think it is one of the most versatile backgrounds I have in my stamp studio! All of the other stamps are from Stampin' Up!.
Okay, now are you ready to try the design? If you do, I will enter your name in a drawing for the following:
This Package includes:
- Two Rachelle Anne Miller Stamps, a collection of colored brads and matching Prima flowers courtesy of Beth Norman and Sunflowers and Dragonflies;
- The Art Parts Stamp Set from Stamper's Anonymouse by Wendy Vecchio Courtesy of Croppinsville;
- The Forest Life Stamp Set from Two Nancys Art Stamps; and
- The Artsy Mini Book Shape Series - Circle from Innovative Stamp Creations.
PLUS the winner will be featured from September 15th through October 1st on the Technique Junkie Newsletter Artwork-Only home Yahoo home page!
To enter, simply email your submission to me at phuntoon@optonline.net. You do need to be a Techique Junkie to enter, and you need to use ONE technique on your submission to be eligible. Submit your entry by September 14th.
Thanks for playing -- I can't wait to see your interpretation of the sketch!

Airbrushing and cleaning

My Airbrushed Markers Card (Technique from the February/March issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter) was made using the Paper Temptress Poison Ivy Iridescent paper. The butterfly is from Innovative Stamp Creations. I colored it very lightly -- I wanted it to have a translucent effect.I think I am a little stuck on greens and blues this month -- it is one of my favorite combinations.
And yes, eventually I did clean my desk on Saturday -- but I messed it up on Sunday again! Ah, the creative process...sometimes it is NOT pretty. But I DID come up with a cool technique for June!

Brayered Brilliance Valentine
This is the last Valentine for me this season...
I used the Brayered Brilliance Technique for the background (from the February 2010 Technique Junkie Newsletter). The flourish I used is from the Rustic Artsy Swirls Set from Innovative Stamp Creations. This background is gorgeous and has a subtle shimmer that is not showing up, unfortunately.
The image is from Twisted Papers. I colored the black and white image lightly with colored pencils. I love having the ability to alter these images however I choose. (Make sure to check out their awesome discount on my sidebar, too!) The flowers are Decorated Pretties (October 2009 Technique Junkie Newsletter). I layered those two items over a purple piece that I stamped with a Stampin' Up! Stamp in white, then misted with a silver shimmer spray. It's a pretty piece all on its own!
I hope you are having a great Valentines Day!

This week, the Technique Junkie Newsletter designers and writers have come together to give you a bounty of eye candy celebrating the December 2009 Technique Junkie Newsletter issue! Now simply leave a comment by Friday, December 4th at 9am EST. Make sure to leave the "key" to the hunt with your comment -- the letter clues you collected along the way. The winner will be selected on Friday morning. Make sure that you leave enough information so that I can contact you to let you know you won. The card on the right features a Rubber Thwamping Background (October 2009 Technique Junkie Newsletter) with a Block Collage Foreground (February 2009 TJ Newsletter). Weekly Giveaway: ISC Autumn Leaves

To celebrate nature's most beautiful painting, this week we are giving away these awesome stamps from Innovative Stamp Creations. They are some of the loveliest leaves in my collection -- and are fabulous to color with Copic Markers, Watercolors, Chalks, Watercolor Crayons, Colored Pencils...you name it!
The example I made with the stamps that will be given away with the stamp set below uses a variation of the Crinkle Technique (October 2009 Technique Junkie Newsletter). I layered a Shape Spotlight (December 2005 issue) of the Copic-colored oak leaf and then cut it out so that it has an Out-of-the Box feel (October 2004 issue). I guess after 7 years and 550 unique techniques, it gets easier to use alot of them on one card!!
Okay, here is the set:
In any case, I will stop my rambling now and tell you how you can win the card and stamps...
So how do you become the lucky winner of this giveaway? To win this card and the stamps, simply leave a comment by Monday, October 19th at 9am est. If you are so inclined, tell me how you would use these stamps or the Christmas stamps on the ISC site.
The winner will be selected on Monday morning. Make sure that you leave enough information so that I can contact you to let you know you won. Just a reminder that Blogger does NOT leave me your email address. A great way to do this is to leave your email address in a spelled-out way, such as "p huntoon at optonline dot net." I will use my handy random number generator to pick the winning entry. You do NOT need to be a TJ subscriber to win. Good Luck!
