WWDB Friends Looking Out

Today is the last day of the second week of the WWDB challenge with this week's theme of Get Well Soon. I used the S677 Friends Looking Out stamp for the outside of the card, and the S821 Old Wall stamp for the envelope.  Inside I used the Sending Caring Thoughts stamp from the SDX156 Difficult Time Set on the inside of the card:
I really love that set -- it can be used with Get Well cards, thinking of you cards, and so much more.
Thanks for playing along! Tomorrow we start week 3 with the theme of Thinking of You Cards. It is also our May Release Celebration!!
See you then,

WWDB Get Well Soon Rowboats

We are in Week 2 of the What We Do Best Challenge, and this week our theme is Get Well cards. Today I have combined the Rowboats on the outside of my card with the Get Well Soon Sentiment from the Greetings Set. The sentiment is on the envelope, AND on the inside of the card.

When I started this, I had planned on stamping the Rowboats on Kraft cardstock in brown, and not coloring anything.  Then...I colored one rowboat with colored pencils as a kind of spotlight, and ended up NOT liking it...so I colored the entire piece.  I LOVE the way it turned out!

I hope you like this creation today and play along with us this week for a chance to win a $50.00 gift certificate to the Technique Junkies store!

WWDB Challenge: Hydrangeas

For today's Thank You card for the WWDB Challenge (What We Do Best), I used the JT016 Hydrangeas stamp.  I colored it using blending brushes and ink. The jury is still out on this one, I really can't decide if I should rip it apart and start again, throw it out, or just send it out! What do you think? I was trying to make a quick card with minimal supplies. It WAS Quick, It didn't use many supplies, but I think it shows lol!  Have a great day.

Tomorrow we start with a new theme -- Get Well Soon. Play along! You never know, you could be the winner of a $50.00 gift certificate!

WWDB Challenge - Rainbow of thanks!

Today's card for the WWDB challenge...a rainbow of thanks!

This card was made using the Therm O Web Transfer Gel Duo through the A Colorful Life Designs Flower Mist Stencil. When the substance dried, I applied Rainbow Foil - and ran it through my Big Shot!  No heat required (although I could have used my laminator for the same results). I was thrilled to fin a red card in my stash, too. It is a colorful way to say thank you!

Join the WWDB (What We Do Best) Challenge today -- we are giving away a $50.00 gift certificate every week!!

Stay home, stay safe --

WWDB Challenge: Thankful for you

Today's WWDB challenge card blends a couple of stamp sets. I used the Floral Framed Sentiments for the flower borders and the decorations on the envelope.  The flowers were simply colored with colored pencils. The Thankful for you sentiment comes from the Autumn Framed Sentiments.  I can't wait to get this into the mail for someone who has been working so hard during this current pandemic.

Please join us for the What We Do Best Challenge!

WWDB Challenge Card - You are Amazing!

Today's WWDB card was made using Ice Crystals Foil and the Colorful Life Design Zinnia Set, using Transfer Gel Duo. The Sentiment is SDX045 you are Amazing. It is a little hard to see in the picture, but the background (and the envelope) was sprayed with Silver Shimmering Bliss. I made sure to use Pixie Spray to hold my stencil down firmly. Read on for details of the WWDB challenge!

This has been posted to the Technique Junkies Blog and The Technique Junkies Facebook Group, but in case you missed it, we have a challenge for you - and we are giving away $50.00 per week in TJ Gift Certificates! The details are below.

Hey -- we are giving away $50.00 gift certificates per week for the next 4 weeks! Read on!
Announcing the What We Do Best Challenge. Let's use our papercrafting skills to spread some love in this world!
Our challenge will run for four weeks starting today, with each of the four weeks featuring a different theme. Each week, you can make one or more cards with envelopes using Technique Junkies stamps within a weekly theme. Simply post them to the Technique Junkies FaceBook group OR email them directly to me.
Each week, one of the challenge cards will be selected RANDOMLY and will win a $50.00 gift certificate to the Technique Junkies online store!
That is $50.00 PER WEEK that we will be giving away with this challenge!
Here are the "rules" and the themes:
1. Create a card using Technique Junkies Stamps or Foils. Please, no other companies' stamps on your creations. Dies, stencils and other embellishments are welcomed, but kindly remember that it is a company-sponsored challenge.
2. You must include a decorated envelope with your card entry.
3. Email your card to phuntoon@optonline.net OR post to the Technique Junkies Facebook Group with the following hashtag: #WWDB.
4. You may post a different card every day. Cards that have been posted to the Technique Junkies FaceBook group prior to the start of the challenge may not be used in this challenge. Each card posted must be made by the poster and only be posted once during the contest.
5. One submitted entry (card) will be selected randomly at the end of the week, and a $50.00 gift certificate winner will be announced on this email and to the FaceBook group on the following Friday.
Here are the themes:
Week One: 4/17 - 4/23: Thank you card:
Thank a nurse, doctor, police officer, first responder, mailman, store clerk or other essential worker. The card does NOT need to use the words "Thank You" on the card, but the "spirit" of the challenge should be there. Entries MUST include a decorated envelope. We don't just want to make cards, we want to send them out!
Week Two: 4/24 - 4/30 Get Well Card:
Must also include a decorated envelope.
Week Three: 5/1 - 5/7: Thinking of you card:
Think shut-ins and other people struggling with the situation. Again, you need to include a decorated envelope.
Week Four 5/8 - 5/14 Encouragement card:
Pretty broad spectrum here - but inspiration, thinking of you, thank you, all encompassed here, too. Again, an envelope is necessary.
Play along! I can't wait to see what you make!

April 2020 New Stamp Release

We are in tough times, and what do we do when times get tough? CRAFT!

We have a fun cadre of new stamps for you this month -- no foolin'! Our April 2020 release is here and we are happy to offer you 15% off those new stamps from today through April 8, 2020. We have so much fun in store for you!

Our design team has a fun celebration in store for you. Each has prepared artwork with the stamps, which you can see here:

Pat Huntoon <--You are here

I had fun with this month's release. I love the way the backgrounds pair with the focal image stamps. Here are a few examples:

The example above uses the Precise Posy background with the Tried Running Focal image.  I used colored pencils for each of the posies and for the focal image. I really like the way these look together!

In this example, I used the Precise Posy background again, but kept it  black and white, leaving the new Clap focal image to take center stage. The Clap stamp was colored with watercolors. Honestly, I adore this stamp in black and white.  It looks more dimensional this way, in my opinion.
The Juggle is Real!  This punny stamp just makes me smile. The watercolored Juggle image is layered over the Op Art stamp, which was colored with blended Distress Oxide Inks.  The juggle stamp is a nice way to bring a smile to someone's face in light of the trying times we are going through right now.

Finally, I used the Stairway to the Stars stamp over the previously-released Star Collage stamp. Believe it or not, both the top focal image and the collage base were stamped in black ink on pink paper. Framboise Aladine IZINK Dye ink was blended over the background, changing the color of the paper. Glitter Gel pens were used on the stars, and although they appear silver here, they are actually red.

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you love this month's release and will order a few for yourself! Make sure to take advantage of the 15% discount before April 8th, too!

Stay home, stay healthy and keep crafting!
