Be okay with where you are,,,

I think we all need a reminder from time to time that it is alright to be exactly where you are - even if you don't think you are okay. Sometimes life is a struggle and it is hard to see the forest through the trees. When I am feeling out of it, I give myself permission to be okay with not being okay. I find it easier to move forward that way.

For today's card I used part of the Confident Girl stamp (irony here) with the It's okay stamp on the front panel. For the background I stamped the Abstract Floral stamp in black over an ink-brayered background.

Paris is an Adventure

 The perspective on this Eiffel Tower stamp is so unique, isn't it? This collage stamp is from Technique Junkies website. My son and Daughter-in-law just told me that they are going to Paris in the fall - and this card is headed for them!

Shiny Snails

 Our new Contemporary Inspiration stamp is great on a Slimline card - it has a great line for longer cards. Today I simply added a line of snails from the new Swirly Snails stamp set to the bottom of the colorful panel, along with a few Nuvo Jewel drops scattered over the top (shiny dots for a shiny sentiment!). Both the Contemporary Inspiration and the Swirly Snails are from the July release and are 15% off through the end of today (July 23rd).

Tree of life

 Our fabulous tree of life is so pretty! Although it might look complicated it is simple to color. Today I used a die cut to make this easy one-layer card. The Tree of Life stamp is 15% off through July 23rd at Technique Junkies, too.

Sisterly Love

 

Yup, we're sisters. Love her - best buddies (mostly) with a smattering of sibling rivalry (yes, even into our sixties!). This card uses one of the Definition of a Family stamp (part of the new TJ release, and it is discounted 15% through July 23rd), with a deconstructed Do a Flip stamp. And yes, that IS me and my sister, too!

Flamazing and Sparkly

I love our new Flamingo Flock stamp and how it pairs so well with the Flamazing Day stamp. What a fun way to lift someone's spirits! Calm is a superpower

Our new abstract floral stamp is so beautiful! I simply stamped this on metallic blue cardstock, then colored the flowers with a regular marker. Colorful Advice from a Wildflower

 Our simple Advice from a Wildflower card uses the custom color ink pad technique (found here: https://youtu.be/s26G2NJU1Fo). This is such an easy card - just brayer the ink on glossy paper, stamp over it in black, and mount on cardstock. The contrast does all the work! Both stamps from Technique Junkies.

Today's card uses the Technique Junkies Game Warden stamp with the Tropical Corners stamps. The background was created by brayering color from the Custom Color Ink Pad Technique (found here: https://ow.ly/luac50SsW7O) onto a piece of non-smooth paper to create a less-blended look than the tutorial suggests. Sand, Saltwater and Sun

 This sentiment is like the ultimate summer blessing! Our simply Sand, Saltwater and Sun stamp was colored with three ink pads using the direct-to-stamp technique, and paired with a swatch of patterned paper. Simple and Easy!

Ocean Soul on the Old Pier

 This Old Pier card was made using the Custom Color Ink pad technique (the video is here: https://youtu.be/s26G2NJU1Fo). The colors on this just really enhance the vibe of this card! The sentiment, Ocean Soul, was stamped on vellum to allow some of the background to peek through. Such a calming card, don't you think?

Celebrating America

 Whatever your political leanings, lets remember who we are on this glorious 4th of July! Today is a day to celebrate America, our freedom, and hopefully spend some time with family in friends.

This card is from the TJ archives, and uses the Technique Junkies Grunge flag with the Home of the Brave stamp. Happy Birthday, America!

Sparkle All Day

 I wish you could see how this sparkles in person! I used the Itoh Peonies background and brayered ink over the top - then I spread Pearly IZINK Diamonds 24 Carats from Aladine over the whole piece. The shimmer is amazing!! The best part is that the glitter stays in place, too. Everything available from Technique Junkies.

Palm Tree Paradise with Pan Pastels

 The Palm Tree Paradise Silhouette Stamp is so easy to work with! Today I used Pan Pastels over my heat embossed image, then simply added a die cut from the @sizzix @TimHoltz Vacation Dies. A simple card that comes together in minutes, but it's all about the contrast! Palm Tree Paradise stamp from Technique Junkies.

Beauty in Simplicity

 There IS Beauty in Simplicity. Sometimes we overcomplicate things, don't we? Today I used the Hippie Flower Border with the Beauty in Simplicity card. I only colored about half of the flowers (my nod to simplicity?) with purples and greens markers. This is one of my favorite color combinations (purple and green), too.

 The sentiment on this card says it all! Both rubber stamps are by Technique Junkies. Flip Flops were colored with Copic Markers, then Nuvo gloss drops were added to the top portion of each thong.

Let your spirit fly

 I don't know how you feel about the beach and ocean, but to me it is liberating. I live this sentiment because it captures that sense of freedom and wonder. Today I paired the Smell the Sea sentiment with the turtle from the seashell and turtle frame; they are layered over our Shadow Weeds Background stamp (isn't that one AWESOME?). Soaring jellyfish

 I used just a small portion of the Smell the Sea sentiment on this stamped card. I like the sentiment with this - the part about making your spirit fly - because these floating jellyfish almost have the appearance of soaring or flying. Although Jellyfish are not the greatest creatures to run into while in the ocean, they are amazing to look at - one of the nature's marvelous creations.

Beachcomber borders

 The shells on the Beachcomber Border Stamps from Technique Junkies are so easy to color and are open to your own color interpretation! I paired the borders with one of the new Seashell Sentiments. What a great friendship card for a beach-loving friend!

Live Simply, Bloom Wildly

 The Live Simply, Bloom Wildly sentiment on this card from the new Good Vibes stamp set from Technique Junkies has a wonderful groovy feel! I paired the sentiment with the Groovy Heart Flowers Stencil from ACLD - they just work together so well. I cut-out one of the ink-blended stenciled flowers for an embellishment and added some flower soft the make it even more soft and cozy.

 The groovy feel of the New Hang Ten Background stamp works so well with the Good Vibes sentiments (set of 8)! Today I used the You Do You sentiment to complement the fun free spirit feeling from the surfboards. I can't wait to mail this to one of my friends!

Sea Flowing Jellyfish

 Our new Flowing Jellyfish are a perfect backdrop for the new Smell the Sea sentiment. The back layer is the Whitecaps stamp, multicolored using the direct-to-stamp technique. Such an easy card - the actual "embellishment" is the jellyfish stamp!

Love Letters in the Sand

This Conch is one of my favorite seashells from the Technique Junkies stamp line. Today I paired it with one of the new Seashell sentiments. Everything was colored with Copic markers. Today I am sharing my beachy Palm Tree Paradise card. This stamp just brings me peace! I can picture myself in that chair, smelling the ocean air, and just feeling the weight of the world lift off my shoulders.  The Beauty in Simplicity Sentiment is great for this card, too!

This pretty combination is the card we are making tonight at the West Springfield StamperCon Rubber Stamp Show! Using our Silhouette stamps and some stenciled ink blending, 80 people will make this card at the Design and Treasure. The show is from 10-5 on Friday and 10-4 on Saturday. Lizard Illusion

 Doesn't this lizard look like it can just crawl off the page? Between the gloss over the colored lizard (from our Lovely Lizards set) and the little bit of grey shading under it, is a nice little illusion. The blue and green ink-blended background uses the Messy Dot Grid stencil from @acolorfullifedesigns. The Whatcha Doin' stamp is a fun way to finish it off, too! Beautiful Wildflower Corners

 The combination of the Advice from a Wildflower stamp and the Wildflowers Corner stamp are just so soothing to me. These two red rubber stamps from Technique Junkies were specifially made to go together to create this stunning combination. Today I colored the Wildflower Corner with Copic Markers, but this is just as beautiful with colored pencils or even in black and white!

Memorial Day

 As I spend Memorial Day today with my family and friends, I will certainly take a moment to express my gratitude to those who have given their lives for our country. My card today uses the Technique Junkies Patriotic Corners with the America Beats True in their honor.

A sparkling Birthday

 It's hard to seen in the picture, but this is a super-glittery card! This uses @aladine IZINK Diamonds with with the Birthday Cake Stencil from @acolorfullifedesigns. The Happy birthday sentiment is from the Another Year Set. It's really a shame the camera doesn't pick up the vibrancy of this card - it is super pretty!

Meadow Sprigs Friendship Card

 Our Meadow Sprigs stamp is so very pretty and works so well with this sentiment from the Lavender Friendship set. This particular sentiment is perfect for friendship, encouragement, thinking of you, and so much more. Kraft paper and purple are a winner together too! Just lightly colored with colored pencils to highlight the lavender and wheat sprigs, and you have a finished card. Both rubber stamps are from Technique Junkies.

 Our Beer Glasses background just makes me....thirsty! Our card today uses the Sudsy Stuff background wit the Beer Glasses background over it. After coloring my mugs, I used Diamond Glaze over each one to add glossy, dimensional highlights. Cheers!
