Wonderful Wednesday Giveaway: Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Can you believe that Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is 6 months old already? Congratulations to Korin Sutherland on the success of S'nS Stamps!

I am thrilled that today's giveaway features Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The card above uses stamps from this set "Home Sweet Home." I have to say, I love the versatility of this set (a picture is below). I think the variety of sayings in the set makes it very usable for so many events. I chose to make a "Welcome to the Neighborhood" card -- Isn't that just a great stamp to have on hand? My card uses the Gamsol Pearls Technique from the June 2006 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.

Korin is celebrating her anniversary in a very special way, too. Want to earn free stamps? All orders of $50 more during the month of May from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps will receive a FREE stamp set (a $15 value). Not only that, but with a $50 order, you'll also receive free shipping (US & Canada).**You need not do anything other than place the order. Stamp sets will automatically be added to your order before they ship when your order reaches $50.

The winner of today's giveaway will receive the stamp set shown on the right along with the card above. It's really easy to enter -- ANYONE can enter this give away.

Cuttlebug Smoosh

Today's card was from a color challenge that I was in on one of my Yahoo groups. This card uses a Cuttlebug Smoosh background from the October 2007 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. Did you know that Provocraft, the maker of the Cuttlebug, liked this so much that it featured us on it's blog? Cool stuff : )

In any case, the challenge was to hit the Random button to select colors from this wonderful color tool at http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/. This wonderful site is great for matching Stampin' Up! colors when one feels a bit color-challenged. The colors that came up for me were Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand and Vanilla. I love the way this turned out...

TSSC#15 Waxy Cuttlebug

Today's Technostamper Sketch Challenge Sketch (TSSC 15) was wonderfully easy! I had so many ideas for this one and only a sliver of time to work with, so this was the one I did.

The main panel is colored with markers and glitter glue. The background uses the Waxy Cuttlebug technique from the current issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter (April 2008). I changed the sketch up a bit by using flowers across the card instead of paper or ribbons.

The original sketch can be found on Mary Jo Price Williams' blog. Why don't you play along, too?

BC #44: Color Combination Kaleidascope Card!

I Love experimenting with color, don't you? This week's Blogger's Challenge was to create a card or item using the following Stampin' Up! colors: Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue, Certainly Celery and So Saffron. What a great Combination!

I had to make a Kaleidoscope card. I just had to. These cards look so hard, but are so easy to make -- this one even earned a "OH, HOW AWESOME!" from a 14 year old boy (and believe me, he normally does NOT think anything I do is awesome!). Kaleidoscope cards are the online bonus for the Technique Junkie Newsletter for the current April issue. If you are a current subscriber, you know how I made this -- if not, you could have access to this and the other 71 techniques that will be published in 2008 online for only $9.99! Sorry, even I am allowed a commercial now and then...

I took a couple of shots so that you could visualize the depth of this card. I took one closed, one head-on, and one from the top, so that you can see that it is very dimensional.

Okay Technique Junkies, I have a challenge. I am ONLY posting it here.

Make a kaleidoscope card by midnight Saturday May 10th and send it to me via email. I will RANDOMLY select one card as the winner, and you will receive the NEXT CD -- CD 6 -- absolutely free when it is released at the end of the summer. That is a $14.95 value, just for making a card. I will post ALL the cards in a slide show, but the winning card will be posted separately.

So what are you waiting for?

Wonderful Wednesday Giveaway -- Firecracker Designs by Pamela

No matter how many cards I make (and that is a considerable amount), I don't always have a card on hand that is just right for the Birthday Honoree (Not to mention that I send my Dad a few dozen b-day cards every-other month so that he can give them to his fellow Independent Living Housemates!). That's why today's stamps from Firecracker Designs by Pamela (below) are da' Bomb -- you can use them to make birthday cards for EVERYONE!

Our giveaway today is sponsored by Firecracker Designs by Pamela. This set of stamps is great for celebrating birthdays of the young and old! The best part of this is that Pamela has a special offer for you! You can take $5.00 off any order over $20.00 when you order from Firecracker Designs by Pamela. This special is good for Blog Readers and TJ Members alike! Simply enter TJRULES as the Coupon Code when ordering.

The winner of the giveaway will receive this set plus the card above. The card uses the Stippled Frames Technique from the August 2007 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. In addition, the background behind the stippled frame panel is Polished Rainbow from the April 2007 issue. (Hard to see in the picture -- but the giveaway winner will see it!!)

TSSC 14 - Dry Embossed Wash

My entry for the Technostamper Sketch Challenge uses the Dry Embossed Wash Technique from the December 2007 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. I loved the birds on this folder and thought that the bird from Stampin' Up!'s Always stamp set would be perfect with it. I am pleased with the card! The word Celebrate is from a great Impression Obsession set I have that has tons of words on it.

I wonder if I can ever make a TSSC without flipping it? I flipped the original sketch again this week. You see, I wanted to use a new Cuttlebug embossing folder with a bird on it, and the only way I could do it and have it look right was to turn the sketch.

This is the original sketch. Am I close enough?

TSSC13: For my Love

I am on vacation this week and don't anticipate having internet access, so I am hoping that Blogger posts this on Monday as it is supposed to. Hope you are having a great week!

I know Mary Jo Price-Williams is going to pick on me for the card I made for her sketch challenge. This card uses no techniques (gasp). NONE {I feel faint}. ZERO [I can't breathe!]. Yes, Mary Jo, every now and then I make a card without one.

The Technostamper Sketch Challenge this week was very easy -- I hope you enjoy my version. The original sketch is below. I know it looks a little Valentine-ish - but I am leaving this card on DH's pillow this week, so I thought the colors and style was appropriate. Oh -- aren't those little heart brads just darling? I found them in my stash -- in the perfect color, no less -- what a great find!

Stamps by Stampendous.

...and don't worry, next week's card for the sketch will have a technique on it!

Blogger's Challenge #42 -- Triangle Box

We all have out weaknesses, right? Well, mine is making 3-D objects with paper. It is just not my forte. And every time I do it, and actually do it right, I am pleased with myself -- almost like a child would be with an art project!

So today I am please to show you my Blogger's Challenge for this week. Our task was to create a Triangle Box. Luckily for me, Connie was sweet enough to forward on the template for this box -- and even I could follow these directions! In fact, I even altered them to make the box a little bigger.

So here is my triangle box. I filled my box with a treat for a friend that I am seeing on Sunday -- someone I have known for a few years online, but have never met in person.

I hope that you like my box! Take a look at the other pieces posted by the other Blogger's Challenge players. A list is on my sidebar.

Wonderful Wednesday Give away - Artistic Outpost

I love these give aways! It is always so much fun to make a card from a fabulous sheet of stamps then have the honor of giving them both away.

Today's give away is the Happiness Rubber Stamp Plate shown below from Artistic Outpost. I made the card above using the set. The background uses the Createx Creations technique from the April 2008 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter, combined with the PE Gloss technique from the December 2005 issue of the Newsletter. The purple butterfly on top looks like it just landed there, doesn't it? : )
Both the card and the set will be sent to the winner of the give away.

Robyn, the owner of Artistic Outpost, has the following stamp plates at 20% ($8.80!) during April:
-
Singing Cowboy
- Distant Generations
- Hair is Important
- Polaroid Cutie

I have every one of these sheets (does that surprise you?) and I love them!

Now, here is how you can win the giveaway this week (not that you basically have until Noon Friday -- I am going away on Saturday for a week, and I want to have time to mail these out):

ANYONE can enter this give away. One entry per person, per give away, please. To enter the give away for today, simply leave a comment on this blog entry telling me that you would like to enter by 11:59am EST on Friday, April 11th. TSSC 12 - Faux Brick

I have sinned.

I covet these stamps. My friend Valerie just signed on as a Close To My Heart Consultant and brought these stamps over Friday for me to look at. Of course I love them, and that wicked, wicked, evil girl knows that they will be on my next order. So which is a bigger sin -- coveting the stamps or giving in to the impulse to buy them?

In any case, my sketch card for Mary Jo Price Williams' Technostamper Sketch Challege uses the Faux Brick Technique from the April 2008 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter as the background piece. The stamps are from the aforementioned coveted set from Close To My Heart. My evil friend let me christen them on Friday, and I just wrote the check out for my own set. Sigh.
I did take a small liberty with the sketch by adding an additional element behind the front panel, but I think I can be forgiven for that. The original sketch is below. Check out Mary Jo's blog to see the other sketch players this week.

Blogger's Challenge 41: Layout copy - Bloomin' Beautiful

Today's Blogger's Challenge was to copy a layout on Page 65 of the Stampin' Up! Catalog. I am yearning for spring in the worst way, so I decided to create my own spring-like card with this challenge. What is more springy than yellow and purple?

The circle on the left is a piece made using the Watercolor Distress technique from the February 2007 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. The vase of flowers and the flower on the end of "bloom" were colored using the Gamsol Pearls technique from the April 2006 issue of the Newsletter. (I don't know why I made this so small, but you can double-click on it to make it larger if you are so inclined).

The stamps are from Stampin' Up!; and the ribbon was in the dollar bin at Michaels (I MUST stop buying ribbon! This is an addiction!).

I hope you have a chance to look at the other creations made by the Blogger's Challenge players -- the links to their blogs are on my sidebar.

Wonderful Wednesday Giveaway: Our Daily Bread Designs

Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing new stamp companies enter the market! That's why this week's giveaway is so special! I am proud to be giving away stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Right now, this is the only stamp set available from Our Daily Bread Designs -- but more will be coming soon. These rubber stamps are pre-mounted on cling mount and arrive at your doorstep in an acrylic box, with the stamps attached to a pre-stamped clear acetate index print. To use, simply place on an acrylic block and stamp!

The card I made to showcase these stamps uses a Simple Green Spritz background (from the April/May 2008 Technique Junkie Newsletter). The lighthouse was stamped in blue, with the verse over-stamped in black. Blue ink was then stippled around the verse, and yellow ink was stippled on to imitate light.
The winner of this giveaway will receive the stamp set shown, plus the card above. Now, here is how you can win the giveaway this week:ANYONE can enter this give away. One entry per person, per give away, please. To enter the give away for today, simply leave a comment on this blog entry telling me that you would like to enter by 11:59pm EST on Friday, April 4th.
