We were challenged to use the sympathy sketch on page 44 of the Stampin' Up! catalog for inspiration. My challenge card uses a small portion of the Riot of Petals image with a Cracked Glass effect (from the February 2008 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter) on the front panel. The panel across the center and the background both use the same stamp with matching ink/paper -- such a versatile stamp, don't you think? I colored the image with Copic markers, and used rub-ons for the words.
Since the image is so big, I was able to make two full cards from it! The second card is on the right. I have to say, I am in love with how I was able to use the edge of the image as the background panel.
I am going away for the weekend for total indulgence -- a scrapping weekend with eight of my BFFs. I can't wait to get together with my buddies, laugh and scrap. Hope your weekend is wonderful, too!
Ingredients (all Stampin' Up! this week unless noted):
Stamp: Riot of Petals
Ink: StazOn Black, Blush Blossom, Mint Melody (yes, I still have ink and paper left), Basuc Gray
Paper: Blush Blossom, White, Mint Melody, Basic Gray
Other: Rub-Ons, Mint ribbon (source unknown)

What an awesome job Pat, and I love the way you took the large stamp and created a mat with the other portion...that is a fabulous idea. The colors are awesome as well.
Both are beautiful Pat! Love the versatility you showed using this stamp, and the Cracked Glass works so well.

Love your cards! I have to admit that I so did not see the flower for the petals with this stamp. I thought "why would anyone want a background this busy. Man, have I see some gorgeous cards made with it, yours included. I may just have to eat my words and get one for myself.
