TSSC16: Times two...

Today I made two cards for the Technostamper Sketch Challenge. Both cards are very simple. This is a great layout for quick and easy cards!

The first card, on the right, uses Stampin' Up!'s Priceless set, plus the designer paper from the hostess pack in the catalog (which, of course, I have had for almost 6 months and have not used until today!). Monochromatic cards are always in vogue, right?

The second card, on the left, uses Studio G stamps (the $1.00 ones in Michael's clearance bins!). The bottom of this card uses the Glittery Cuttlebug Technique -- directions for that technique are HERE. I am still not sold on the color combo I used -- but I am sharing it anyway!

The original sketch is below. Check out Mary Jo Price-William's blog to see the cards from all the players this week, and to find out how to play along, too!

Giving credit where due...

A few days ago I posted about the Glittery Cuttlebug Technique and couldn't remember where I saw it. I am happy to let you know that the techniques came from Sarah Bevard's delicious blog Craftaholics Anonymous. Thank you for the inspiration, Sarah!

Our techniques are just slightly different -- hers is easier than mine, so try them both out!

Glittery Cuttlebug - a little "How-To"

I joined a challenge on an SU-based egroup this week for cards that glitter. I drew Leigh's name (no pressure there!). This idea -- Glittered Cuttlebug -- was something I found on Sarah Bevard's blog (Craftaholics Anonymous) this morning. I thought it would be great for Leigh's card. I also know that Leigh loves ribbon, so I built the card's colors around it.

To make your Glittery Cuttlebug Card:

  1. Run cardstock and embossing folder through the Cuttlebug.

  2. Gently rub Pigment Ink over raised areas.

  3. Dump on Stamp and Stick Powder and Remove Excess.

  4. Heat according to manufacturer instructions (usually until it just gets shiny).

  5. Pour on the Glitter; remove excess.

  6. Heat set (not necessary, but it does blow off the extra glitter!!!)

I hope she likes it!

Try this card and let me see what you do! Leave a link in the comments or simply email me a .jpeg image (TJ members, you can put them on the group) and I will put them up here!
