Day 27 - Quilted Framed Nesties

Welcome to Day 27 of the 10 Year Anniversary Bash for the Technique Junkie Newsletter. We have been giving something away every day during the month of October.

Today's card uses two techniques: The Framed Nesties Technique from the August 2011 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter, and the Quilt Technique from the June 2006 issue of the Newsletter. I love the dimension of this technique!

The adorable little girl stamp is from Rare Image Rubber Stamps, and it is on the huge sheet of stamps being given away today:

Herringbone Kittens

Yes, you read that right. Kittens. If you know me, you know that I am not a cat fan (Dogs Rule!). I was in a swap a couple of months ago and I had made this card to represent the letter K. If you look closely you can see that the brads letters spelling  "Kittens" on them.

The card uses the Herringbone Technique from the December 2009 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. The stamps are from Rare Image Rubber Stamps and are available through I Brake for Stamps.  The brads with the letters have been in my stash for at least 6 - 7 years...I have no clue who made them!

The designer paper is from Basic Grey and all the solid Paper is from Paper Temptress. Enjoy your Saturday!

Weekly Giveaway - Rare Image Rubber Stamps

Spring has sprung, as they say, so it is fitting that today's giveaway reflect Spring's beauty. The beautiful garden-themed stamps for today's giveaway are from Rare Image Rubber Stamps, presented by I Brake for Stamps. Nancy Judd, former Technique Junkie Designer, designed these stamps, and now they are being offered by I Brake for Stamps! There are a whopping 25 images on this sheet of rubber. This sheet is a gardener's dream.

The card I made today to represent the stamps uses a Veined Marble Background from the August 2007 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter (hmmm, the 2007 issues wouldn't be going on sale for 1/2 price tomorrow on the Design Team Blog for the Try That Technique Challenge, would it? Hmmm...). In addition to coloring the image with Markers, I used Flower Soft to add dimension to my blooms. It is a simple card, I know, but sometimes adding just one more thing is just, well, too much! Simple it is.

In addition to the Rare Image Rubber Stamps line, I Brake for Stamps also has plenty of other brand new images on the website. There are Spring Flowers and Collage images, too. You can see all of the new releases here: http://tinyurl.com/54p8s8  Shipping is a flat fee of $4.85 for all purchases for U.S. residents.

To win this stamp set and the card, simply leave a comment on this post and I will use my random number generator to select a winner. Make sure to leave enough information so that I can contact you -- Blogger does not send me your name, nor does it make it easy for me to find you! Try leaving your email address in this format:  p huntoon @ optonline dot com. I will be picking a winner on Monday, April 19th, so be sure to get your comment in before then. Good luck!

Congrats to Marva Plummer-Bruno, the winner of this giveaway!

Wonderful Wednesday Giveaway: Rare Image Rubber Stamps

I love these stamps from Rare Image Rubber Stamps. The stamp sheet is jam-packed with cats and dogs, and of course, there are a couple of mice in there, too! These high-quality rubber stamps will be sent to the winner of the giveaway, along with the card shown above.

The card highlights one of the cats from the stamp sheet in a Torn Frame (from the December 2008 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter). The background is a piece of Camouflage (from the October issue of the Newsletter). I added some thick yarn to the side -- after all, don't all cats love yarn?

As a special from Rare Images, If you order the Pets sheet, the garden sheet, or both, the shipping is only $1.00 this week. Only a dollar! What a great deal.

Wonderful Wednesday Giveaway - Rare Images

Rare Images, indeed! Nancy Judd, Technique Junkie designer and stamper extraordinaire, is the maker of this fine piece of rubber. Nancy was looking for good dog and cat stamps and couldn't find any that she was happy with. So what is any self-respecting designer/stamper/TJ-er to do? Why, you make your own stamps! At least, that is what Nancy did. I am thrilled to offer these stamps from Rare Images for the Wonderful Wednesday Giveaway this week.

The winner of this Rare Images stamp sheet will receive the 8-1/2" x 11" sheet above that is filled with dog, cat and mice images. If you would like to purchase the stamps directly, go to Nancy's Blog and click on the sheet in the right column -- it will take you to her store.

In addition to these great stamps, the winner of the giveaway will receive the card above. The dog is colored using the Marker Water Coloring Technique from the June 2008 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. (You thought I used my Copics to color him, didn't you? Look at that! Regular ol' markers -- if you subscribed, you would know the trick to doing this...) The purple/green/gold background was made using a technique called Faux Handmade Paper, also from the June issue. Finally, all of those pieces are layered on a piece of Textured Pearl Ex from the December 2006 issue of the Newsletter.

Okay, want to know how the stamps and cards could be yours?
