A Tree in the Sunset

I just love Gelatos! This piece was created using the Distressed Fingerpainting Technique from the Artistic Effects CD. Coloring this image took less than 5 minutes! Of course, the stamp is Sunset Tree from Technique Junkies.

If you live near Fort Wayne IN, please come to the Stamp Show this weekend! I will be demoing this technique, along with 4 or 5 other Gelato and Goosebump techniques, at the show. I would love to meet you! Click HERE for details on the show.

Make sure you stop by tomorrow! We will be celebrating a brand new CD: Sensational Stencils with a blog hop starting at 8am.  The hop will begin on the Design Team Blog and end here. You are in for a visual feast! Don't tell anyone, but you can actually order your copy of the CD today using the link on this page. All CDs ordered this week will be mailed next Tuesday, when I get home from Fort Wayne. I am picking up the CDs on the way!

On a Personal Note:
I can hardly believe that it has been July 15th since my last post!

There are a multitude of reasons for that; the first and foremost one is that my youngest son was diagnosed with cancer the last week of April. My summer was dedicated to his treatment, of course, with very little time dedicated to the Technique Junkies businesses. I am thrilled to tell you that he is now in college (Northeastern University in Boston), and is in remission.  Many of you who follow my Facebook page know this news, of course, but I thought a quick acknowledgement would be in order for anyone who doesn't know. I have spent the last 30 days catching my breath and catching up. I will be more diligent in posting from this point forward, I promise!

Come see us in Winston Salem -- and receive a free Gelato!

Sounds Yummy, right? If you are in the Winston-Salem area, I invite you to the Stamp Scrap Art Tour Show this weekend. Print out the ticket here, and you and a friend can both go for the price of one! In addition, I will be demoing Gelatos all weekend, and the first 50 people who stop by and mention this post will receive a free Gelato! Not bad, right?

Come see some of the techniques used in the Artistic Effects CD in action, get a free Gelato, and join in the fun.  See you at the show!

Just as an aside -- I m adding Gelatos to my website, along with several other products, today!  You can now buy some of your favorite tools and coloring mediums from Technique Junkies.

Artistic Effects Blog Hop

Welcome! today we are celebrating the launch of the Artistic Effects CD. If this blog is your first stop, I encourage you to go to the beginning of the hop on the  Design Team Blog (www.techniquejunkies.blogspot.com). You can follow the links from there to see all of the beautiful artwork celebrating this great new CD. If you have arrived here from Shelly Schmidt's blog, you are in the right place! I hope you have enjoyed what you have seen so far.

The Artistic Effects CD contains 40 fun tutorials for using Gelatos, Gesso, Distress Stains, Goosebumps and irRESISTible Sprays. You will be able to use these great mediums in creative new ways -- and all of the techniques are easy. Of course, every one of the tutorials is in Step-by-Step Printable PDF format. The CD is $14.95 plus shipping. You can check it out HERE.

Today I have two cards for you. The top card uses a technique called Gelatos Fingerpainting. This is such an easy technique and the colors pop off the paper! The saying is from a Technique Junkies Stamp Set: Proverbs; the base is a newly released stamp: Large Poppies.

My second card uses the Goosed Stains Technique- it uses both Goosebumps and Distress Stains. LOVE LOVE LOVE this look! Again, all stamps are from Technique Junkies.

I hope you enjoyed the hop - and I KNOW you will enjoy the CD!

On a side note, the Technique Junkies site will be carrying Gelatos, Goosebmps, irRESISTible Sprays and Gesso, along with a few other products, starting on June 11th (or sooner). I apologize for the delay - my youngest son was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma and I have been spending a great deal of my time in the hospital with him.
