Today is release day at Technique Junkies, and we have 14 new stamps for you! As usual all of the newly released August 2020 stamps are 15% off through August 8th, so make sure to shop and get your discount!

Today the Technique Junkies Design Team is helping with the celebration by displaying their beautiful artwork. Before we get to mine, here is a list of all of the designers who are participating:

Here is some of the artwork I have for you this month:
The first uses the Circular Vines Stamp with the Love Faith and Peace set:

I couldn't help pairing the Gluestick stamp with the (previously released) Happy Housewife stamp!

And...this cat. I used the I Got This For You stamp over a background with 3D Aladine Paint through the Zinnia Set Stencil. I always hear stories of cats bringing in dead (or worse, half-dead) birds, mice, chipmunks, etc. What a great birthday card this makes for your Cat Loving friends!

And Finally for today, I have the Mad Mod Lace stamp paired with the Kick Ass Shoes stamp:

I hope you enjoy all of the artwork today from our release celebration!!!

Christmas in July - last few days!

Today for Technique Junkies' Christmas in July I have a fun card using the Santa Checks stamp.  I colored her with colored pencils, fussy cut her, and popped her over my background.  The Poinsettias in the back use Framboise Dye Ink blended through one of the Layered Mandala Stencil pieces. I used Miel ink through one of the layers, too, but it really doesn't show that well online - though it is subtle and pretty in person!

You can still save 25% off on Christmas stamps with the code JULYXMAS at checkout.

Christmas in July: Christmas Mug Shot

When we put this stamp out, I underestimated how many people it would resonate with! As long as there are cats and indoor trees, this will probably ring true.

The Technique Junkies Christmas Mug Shot stamp used here was layered over s background that was created with distress inks blended through the Messy Diamond Grid Stencil with Blending Brushes. I had no idea that the Antique Linen ink would almost glow against the Kraft paper background.  I think it is a really cool effect!

You still have time to use the 25% discount off the Christmas Stamps through December 27th, too!

Christmas in July: Red or White

Today's Technique Junkies' Christmas in July card is brought to you by...wine. I like a nice glass during the holidays...and, like the stamp Red or White Christmas, I am not all that picky!  I thought it was fitting to use the Peppermint Swirl background with the fun nature of this card, Normally I use that background in a more, um, sober manner, but it works here, no?

You can still get 25% off all Technique Junkies Christmas stamps   ( https://techniquejunkies.com/christmas/ using the code JULYXMAS through July 27th. Make sure you check out our contest, too!  Details are here:  https://techniquejunkies.blogspot.com/2020/07/tj-inkspirations-foiled-christmas-cards.html

Christmas in July: Seasons Greetings Holly

Today's Christmas in July card uses the Technique Junkies Season's Greetings Set for both the background and the sentiment. My holly was colored with alcohol markers -- they just pop off the Kraft paper, don't they? I love the elegant simplicity of this card. Remember that all stamps in the Christmas category are 25% off through July 27th using the code: JULYXMAS.

Chirstmas in July: Christmas Carol Kitty

" Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, Your ornaments are history..."
What is not to love about this fun Christmas card using the Christmas Carol Kitty stamp? I used the Pinecones stamp as a fun background for my singing cat. I colored the cat with colored pencils and Gamsol, then added a touch of glitter to the Santa's hat to make it shimmer.

Christmas in July runs through July 27th; remember that you can take 25% off Christmas stamps with the code JULYXMAS through the 27th. Details about our Christmas in July event and contest may be found HERE.
Cheers,
Pat

Christmas in July: The perfect Christmas Cocktail

Hi all! We are in the midst of Christmas in July at Technique Junkies (you can read the details HERE) and I have a fun card today!

Today's card uses the Christmas Cocktail stamp in the foreground. I colored the image with colored pencils, blended them with Gamsol, then I went over the entire cocktail portion with the Nuvo Glitter Gloss Aqua Marker to add overall clear shimmer.

The background is a white piece of paper that was sprayed with Just Squeezed and Thulian Pink Shimmering Bliss. I dried that with a heat tool, then lightly stamped the Chevron background stamp with clear embossing pad, then embossed it with silver. I wanted a fun distressed llook in the background and I am really happy with how it turned out!

Keep in mind that you can get 25% off the Christmas Stamps with the code JULYXMAS through July 27th!

Merry Christmas in July!

Hot Chili Peppers for Dad

My husband LOVES hot peppers. He love hot sauces, hot bloody marys, hot chicken wings -- everything hot! So it was fitting for me to make this Father's Day Card for him -- it perfectly symbolizes his love for all things hot.  I also think it screams summer! Tonight we will dine al Fresco on the deck, with some ribs (hot as I an spice them) and some of his favorite summer salads (I am the QUEEN of summer pasta, vegetable and bean salads!).

Happy Father's Dad to the best Dad my children could ever have - he was an excellent role model to our two sons, who have become wonderful men, and, someday, will follow in Mark's footsteps as great Dads themselves. Happy Father's Day to all the other Dads out there.

Supplies:
SD784 Hot Peppers (Technique Junkies, of course)
Nuvo Clear Crystal Glaze
Distress Markers

June 2020 New Stamp Release Celebration

Welcome to June! After the VERY long month of May, it is refreshing to suddenly find ourselves in the sunshine, with a possible ray of hope for leaving our homes and catching some fresh air.

Today we are celebrating the June 2020 New Stamp Release at Technique Junkies. This month we have a plethora of beach, ocean and seas stamps, along with some masculine and travel stamps, and, of course, a new, snarky, inside out stamp set. As always, the new release is 15% off through June 8th. Anything purchased from the new stamp category will be automatically discounted at checkout.

Before we get into the artwork for this month, stay tuned in June for another challenge from Technique Junkies -- the prizes are CRAZY GOOD for these challenges and it will be easy to enter. We will have two themes in June -- one will be Beach/Ocean/Sea and the other will be Summer Fun. The fun will start on JUNE 5th and you will have plenty of time to enter the challenges. Stay tuned!

Our team has a great line-up of inspirational cards for you this month, too. I had a blast this month creating mine, I can't wait to show you!

First up, I use Beach Answer as the focal image of my card. My piece was colored with brush markers. The background is the previously-released Zen Waves, which was foiled using the Heidi Swapp Ink Toner Kit with Hologram Silver Heat Transfer Foil.

Next up are two stamps from the release.  I LOVE the look of navy and white for beach and nautical stamps. I think the simplicity is elegant and captures the feel of the season.  This card uses the Beach Rules stamp with the Seashells and Coral Background Stamp.

This card was probably the most fun to make. I used the Bubble Flow background, which was stamped in navy and inked using Blending Brushes. The focal sentiment is the new Find My Soul stamp. It ink it is so elegant! I added colored the Floral Seahorse stamp with Brush Markers and Colored Pencils and fussy cut it before adding it to the piece.

The background on this card again uses the Seashells and Coral background. The focal image uses the Fish Frame stamp, which was colored with brush markers. I added the previously released Enjoy Every Moment stamp in the center of the frame.

Finally, my sweet Purrmaid card! Whether you are a cat lover or a mermaid lover, this Purrmaid duo from the Oceans of Love stamp set is irresistable!  The Oceans of Love set contains 9 full-sized stamps - these are not mini stamps. The background was made with the Flowing Drops Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs placed over shimmering blue cardstock; Distress Oxide ink was applied using Blending Brushes. The background is a cool blend of shimmer and matte.

Here is the list of the Technique Junkies Designers playing along with the celebration - I hope you enjoy their artwork! Their creations are gorgeous!

WWDB Week 4 - Final Day!

Today is the last day of the What We Do Best Challenge, and I have a fun card to share with you today! I used the S743 Make Lemonade background with the SD778 Call the Girls stamp as a focal image.  I had to modify the stamp, just a little bit, as a sign of the times -- I am calling the girls ON ZOOM.  We're having a zoom cocktail party!

Thanks for playing along with this 4 week challenge. I loved seeing your artwork this month and look forward to having another challenge for you again in another few weeks. Stay healthy!
Best regards,
Pat Huntoon

WWDB Week 4: Typewriter Encouragement

Today's encouragement card uses the Typewriter Set  as a focal image. I love this set - it contains the typewriter along with  different sentiments that fit into the paper - it works for  many occasions and cards. I thought the "It's Going to be Alright" sentiment was perfect for this week's theme. The background uses the Fat Smudged Lines stamp with different Distress Inks blended over the background using Blending Brushes. I am really happy with how this came out!
Have a great day,
Pat

WWDB Wk 4: How strong you are

Today's card for the What We Do Best Encouragement Cards challenge uses the How Strong You Are Stamp. The butterfly wings were colored with Nuvo Glitter Markers, making them super-shiny! To create the background, I used the Showy Blooms Stencil that has Mardi Gras Shimmering Bliss sprayed through it. It has amazing shine in person!
Have a great day!

WWDB Week 4 Encouragement - Bird and Letter Collage

We are in week 4 of the What We Do Best Challenge, and this week's theme is Encouragement cards. Today I have a card that uses the Bird and Letter Collage Background, with a Modern Encouragement Sentiment. The Bird and Letter Collage is stamped using Toner Ink from the Heidi Swapp Ink Toner Kit and Raspberry Heat Transfer Foil was added. The Dare to Begin sentiment uses Holograhic HTF.  Ink was blended around the edges of the card to make the foil pop.

Remember that we are giving a $50.00 gift certificate away this week again to a randomly selected participant! Join us - we would all love to see what you make!

WWDB Week 3: Sunflowers Thinking of you

Ready for some sunshine? Sunflowers always remind me of sunshine, so they are perfect for today's WWDB Thinking of You card. I used the Sunflowers Duo for the front of my card, and the Single Sunflower for my envelope.  They are cheerful, bright and sunny! To make them even more cheerful, I sprayed them with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper - they look like they were stamped on expensive iridescent paper in person. I think you can see the shimmer a little better in this picture:

I hope your day is filled with Sunshine!

It's week 3 of the What We Do Best Challenge, Thinking of You cards. Today I am using the Neptune's Mond stamp as a focal image. May 2020 New Stamp Release Celebration

It's release day! This is always my favorite day of the month because I can show off all our "goodies!"  Today we have 15 very special stamps for you. All of the new stamps may be found in the May 2020 New Stamp Release category, and are 15% off through May 8th.

The design team is joining me in celebrating the release, and links to their blogs, with their artwork, are below. Please take a few minutes to see what they have made from the new release - their artwork is very inspiring.
I had a blast creating with these stamps! Let me show you some of the things I made:
Patti Gilliam
Judy Jackson
Lynda Pleckan

My first card, above, uses the Tulip with Text background stamp. I colored my tulip with Copic markers and highlighted certain parts with Pearlescent watercolors. It is very shimmery in person - here is a close-up:

Next I had some fun combining the Old Man stamp with the Inside out: Old Fart set. The Old Fart set is so much fun because it offers a little snarky surprise on the inside of the card (as do all the Inside Out sets). If you love this old man, you might want to also take a look at the Life is Short stamp - he pairs perfectly with that, too. Here is the outside, and the inside, of the card:

Next., my cat card. I used the A Little Black Cat stamp and cut it out.  This stamp amazed me. I stamped it ONCE with Versafine black ink to get this coverage. That is the effect of no added chemicals in our stamp making process - nothing comes between you and the stamp.

The background of this stamp is grey, black, white and silver washi tapes.  It couldn't have been simpler!

Next, I used the Rose Circles stamp as a background with the words Simply and Enjoy from the Five Fab Phrases set:

And finally today, I used the No-one Will Notice stamp as a focal image over the previously-released Itoh Peonies stamp...just for fun!

So that is all for ME today.I hope you enjoy the work from the TJ Team:

WWDB Friends Looking Out

Today is the last day of the second week of the WWDB challenge with this week's theme of Get Well Soon. I used the S677 Friends Looking Out stamp for the outside of the card, and the S821 Old Wall stamp for the envelope.  Inside I used the Sending Caring Thoughts stamp from the SDX156 Difficult Time Set on the inside of the card:
I really love that set -- it can be used with Get Well cards, thinking of you cards, and so much more.
Thanks for playing along! Tomorrow we start week 3 with the theme of Thinking of You Cards. It is also our May Release Celebration!!
See you then,

WWDB Get Well Soon Rowboats

We are in Week 2 of the What We Do Best Challenge, and this week our theme is Get Well cards. Today I have combined the Rowboats on the outside of my card with the Get Well Soon Sentiment from the Greetings Set. The sentiment is on the envelope, AND on the inside of the card.

When I started this, I had planned on stamping the Rowboats on Kraft cardstock in brown, and not coloring anything.  Then...I colored one rowboat with colored pencils as a kind of spotlight, and ended up NOT liking it...so I colored the entire piece.  I LOVE the way it turned out!

I hope you like this creation today and play along with us this week for a chance to win a $50.00 gift certificate to the Technique Junkies store!

WWDB Challenge: Hydrangeas

For today's Thank You card for the WWDB Challenge (What We Do Best), I used the JT016 Hydrangeas stamp.  I colored it using blending brushes and ink. The jury is still out on this one, I really can't decide if I should rip it apart and start again, throw it out, or just send it out! What do you think? I was trying to make a quick card with minimal supplies. It WAS Quick, It didn't use many supplies, but I think it shows lol!  Have a great day.

Tomorrow we start with a new theme -- Get Well Soon. Play along! You never know, you could be the winner of a $50.00 gift certificate!

WWDB Challenge - Rainbow of thanks!

Today's card for the WWDB challenge...a rainbow of thanks!

This card was made using the Therm O Web Transfer Gel Duo through the A Colorful Life Designs Flower Mist Stencil. When the substance dried, I applied Rainbow Foil - and ran it through my Big Shot!  No heat required (although I could have used my laminator for the same results). I was thrilled to fin a red card in my stash, too. It is a colorful way to say thank you!

Join the WWDB (What We Do Best) Challenge today -- we are giving away a $50.00 gift certificate every week!!

Stay home, stay safe --
