Give Away a Day, Day 29

Again we will have two more items to give away to celebrate the Technique Junkie Newsletter's 5th anniversary!

Happiest of anniversaries, Junkies! Five years, 400 techniques. By far, the MOST extensive one-source library of step-by-step tutorials that exists anywhere. If you are a visitor and you have not subscribed, what are you waiting for? Let me give you a little incentive: New subscribers, if you subscribe to the issues from 10-07 through 12-08, I will send you the 10-07 issue Free. Free. That is a $3.00 savings! So, $21.00 for the issues from 10-07 through 12-08. Hurry, though, I am only offering this until Friday, November 2nd! There will NOT be any extensions on this deadline. US addresses only. Email me for an invoice if you are interested.

Subscribers, why don't you tell us in your comments why you love being a Technique Junkie? If each of you tells one other person today about the newsletter (and the special), that would be the best anniversary present you can give me.

Okay, thank you for allowing me to put a "commercial" up -- I figure with all these give aways, I am allowed a commercial : ) On with the give aways for today!

Our first give away is from one of the most generous sponsors of this Month's anniversary celebration -- I Brake for Stamps. I don't know about you, but this company has become one of my favorites! One lucky winner of the Give Aways will receive these two stamp sheets, and the card shown here. I Brake for Stamps has donated more than their share of Give Aways for us -- why don't you go over to Della's website and show your appreciation?

The eye-candy that goes with this Give Away uses I Brake for Stamps with the Scrunchie Technique from the October 2007 issue of the Newsletter. I stamped directly on the background and colored the image with markers, then removed some of the color with a blender pen. I like the effect- very "copic-esque."

Our next Give Away is another fabulous gift certificate from our friend Elaine at Integrity Designs. The lucky winner of this part of the Give Away will receive a $25.00 (Canadian) gift certificate to go shopping on the Integrity Designs website! With the favorable exchange rate, that is one great Give Away! Integrity Designs carries many of my favorite Stamp lines -- Innovative Stamp Creations, Time to Stamp, Non-Sequitur Stamps, Starving Artistamps, and many many more. Thank you, Elaine, for this generous Give Away! Have fun shopping, ladies.

The eye candy that goes along with this card was made using Time to Stamp images from the Beach Memoirs sheet. The background is the Watered Tintz technique from the December 2006 issue of the TJ Newsletter. The shells were colored with pastels and then covered with diamond glaze (CE) to add dimension. This card will be sent to the gift certificate winner.

Remember, there will be two winners chosen from the entries - one for each prize. Good luck! ANYONE can enter. One entry per person, per daily give away please. To enter the give away for today, simply leave a comment on this blog entry telling me that you would like to enter by 11:59pm EST on Tuesday, October 30th. No other entry methods will be included in the give away. If you email me to enter, your entry will NOT be considered a valid entry. When you leave the comment, make sure to put your NAME in the comment -- if you enter your comment as "Anonymous", I cannot give you the prize! Blogger does NOT record your email address for me, so you will need to check back to find out if you have won or include your email address in your comment so that I can notify you. I will have a random number generator pick two numbers from the comments to select two winners. Each give-away is separate, so to be eligible for a specific item you must enter that day's contest on the post where it is listed.Check back every day during the month of October for the daily giveaway -- you can enter EVERY day! A fabulous Grand Prize will be offered on the last day of the month, too. Enter today -- good luck!

Today's winners are: Kat Merryman, who has won the I brake for Stamps Sheets, and Debbie Ebat, who has won the Gift Certificate from Integrity Designs. Congratulations, ladies!

Pat, i think your Technique Junkies newsletter is awesome. I love how it opens my eyes to new ideas and inspires me to try new things. I tell everyone about it! Thanks for all you do!!

I just subscribed to Technique Junkies this month (after hearing it mentioned on different online groups over the past couple of years). What really encouraged me to try a trial subscription was the cards that you are doing this month on your blog for the give-aways. It is one thing to see the list of techniques on the website and another to actually "see" those techniques in action. And the newsletter and online photos have more than met my expectations -- lots of information. Now to find the time to actually try the techniques out!

Please enter my name for today's drawing too.

Wow - how can you describe TJ's with very little words?? Since I joined I started using my stamps and ink instead of just collecting them. I have learned that I AM an artist no matter what my 2nd grade teacher said. I have felt the joy of playing with colors and textures and being successful at it. I have learned I am good at math - or following terrific instructions! I have showered my family and friends with cards reminding them that I do care about them all the time and not just on their bdays, anniversaries, and Holidays when they expect a card. I have connected with people from all over the world and learned so much from them. I would give up every magazine subscription I have before I'd ever give up my TJ newsletters!
THANK YOU Pat!

This has been so much fun each day, not only to see all the wonderful prizes and eye candy, on most days I go out to each of the websites and check out what they have, most of them are in my favorites, thanks Pat for all your hard work each day, I'm going to take advantage of the sale and get my sister-in-law on board with the TJ newsletter, early X-mas gift.

Why do I like being a junkie? Cuz it gives me a "fix" for my need to create unique BG's, plus, it saves so much time trying to search the internet for various techniques. 3rd...because you obviously put great love, care, and time into providing all of these techniques for us in a wonderully printed newsletter. Refer at least one person??? My dear Pat...several people have signed up for the newsletter on my recommendation. I support vendors that I believe in and that give me excellent service as well as product. You rank right up there on the top...and, ironically, so does Della from Ibrakeforstamps. You both are the epitome of "great customer service". You go the extra mile for us. OK...now I'm done. Consider me entered please. Hisses, Rockin Robin Caldwell

I don't know what I would do without technique junkies! I love the newsletter because it has great ideas with no ads. I do not know what I would do without the yahoo group. I usually don't get time to stamp and life is way to hectic and stressful. My only sanity is my once a day visit to my e-mail to see all the wonderful cards everyone is making. I just hang on to the thought that one day I will stamp again. For right now I just collect inspiration for later!

Why do I love Technique Junkies? that is easy and yet difficult! Difficult only becasue it would take so many words to describe the benefits of being a TJ'er! Lots of techniques in easy to understand words and pictures!Better explanations than anywhere I have seen on line! Often uses materials a stamper already owns and doesn't really know how to use it in their stamping. But i will tell anyone this: My own stamping skills have dramatically improved since I became a TJ'er. I was OK before then (and I first signed up for a 6 month subscription) and now I am much better. It is so easy to learn how to really improve your skills when you are a Technique Junkie! Iam a newbie with TJ but let me tell you, the techniques are fabulous! But what is even better? There is an e-group for all the subscribers! If you have a question, there is always someone there to assist you. The members are an inspiration to any one ... newbie or experienced.

Thank you Pat for providing these newsletters and a home for inspiration and comraderie.

I could never choose just one thing about the tj newsletter- I love the way it challenges me to use things I already have and would have never thought of on my own- I love all the wonderful ideas that come through on the yahoo group- and I love the friendships that I have made in the group as well. Its almost like subscribing to a family! :) (and a super crafty one at that!)

I love to scroll down to the bottom of your page, Pat, and see the cards you have made cycle though. Such talent! I love TJ because it keeps giving me new ideas and challenges me. I also live in a small town and don't have any other stampers to get together with. I learn so much just seeing the cards and reading the group emails and comments.

I like the TJ newsletters because they are forcing me to step outside the paper and stamp "box" and go in a more artistic direction. This is what I've wanted to do for a long time, but had no other place to turn for inspiration. Thanks so much, Pat.

Please enter me in this drawing.

I really enjoy getting the newsletter in the mail and looking through it for inspiration and motivation. It's been a real treat to get these and to have the forum to share ideas, etc. with too.

One thing I really like is that you are so responsive - I've e-mailed with questions, etc. and you always get back to me right away. Thanks for not only providing a great source of techniques but excellent customer service to boot!

Congrats on your anniversary - I'm sure there will be many more to follow.

What I love about being a tech junkie is the superb quality of your paper newsletter.
No, wait, it's the step by step photo tutorial.
No, I think it's the new creative ideas.
Hmmm, maybe it's the extra artwork on the website.
Actually, it may be that there's always at least one technique that is
a)easy or
b)I have all the supplies on hand or
c)so irresistably gorgeous I just have to try it!
Technique Junkies is the only art publication to which I subscribe. I love it!
