Wonderful Wednesday Giveaway -- The Stampsmith

Today's giveaway are two beautiful unmounted photo stamps from The Stampsmith.

The first image, shown in the card and on the left, is Grace Christmas. I find this image to be incredibly lovely! I think it is because the evergreen in the picture makes me conjure up the smell of pine -- it is a very happy and soothing smell for me.
When I was making the card above, I stamped her in black ink on glossy paper, then gently tinted the image with chalk. That panel is mounted on burgundy, then on a piece of pink/burgundy/green that was made using the Two-Toned Crunch Technique from the December 2008 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. That piece was mounted on a piece of stamped evergreen paper, mounted again on Burgundy, and embellished with ribbons and snowflakes.

The second image in today's giveaway, on the right, Is called butterfly kiss. I did make a card with this image, too, but it will be shown in the February 2009 issue of the TJ Newsletter, and I did not want to ruin the surprise!
For the giveaway this week, I would like to do something different. To enter, leave a comment, BUT tell me what Holiday item makes you feel all warm inside : )
You have until Sunday evening, December 21st, 2008, to leave me a comment. I will select a winner using a random number generator on Monday, December 22nd. Make sure to leave me your email address so that I can contact you. You many want to leave it in this format: p huntoon at optonline dot net -- that will help mystify those pesky internet bots.
Now, I am off to smell my Christmas tree~
Congratulations to Sharon Briss! She is the lucky giveaway winner!

Pat,
Yet another wonderful card. Your art continues to delight me.

I love going to the candlelight Christmas Eve service. It's definitely my favorite, really signifies that it's Christmas to me. The last few years, we've had some friends over for a light dinner, then all gone to church together on Christmas Eve. The combination of family, friends and the Christmas Eve service really makes me feel warm and loved.

What about the Christmas holiday makes me feel all warm inside? My first thought was a glass of port wine - and I hardly drink at all!

What else? The smell of pine and balsam. The smell of cloves and spices... seeing the trees without their leaves really shows the true beauty of the tree structure... visiting with friends and family... eating comfort food... dressing up... driving around the neighborhood to look at all the decorations...

Usually the weather has just gotten cold enough for a fire in the fireplace. I love that my cat gets snuggly and affectionate when he gets cold.

And most of all, I love that my husband and I are finally cool enough to snuggle close!

Thanks Pat!

Favorite is when our family gathers on Christmas Eve to have our traditional seven-course meal with recipes that have been handed down through the years. A place is set for Jesus at the dinner table. Santa's arrival after dinner is distinguished by heavy stomping and much bell ringing. He distributes a small gift to each child from his chair beside the Christmas tree and then leads the way with singing Christmas carols. Would love to win the image from Stampsmith. Just beautiful. Happy Holidays Pat,

I love the stampsmith rubber stamps they are so beautiful.

As far as what item makes me feel warm inside. It sounds funny but it's chocolate covered cherries. My mom knew I loved them. So when I was a little girl she always made sure to buy me a box of my very own. Of course I shared but it was still fun to open them every year. She passed away when I was 12 but every time I see a box at this time of year I think of her and miss her.

What beautiful stamps! Would love to win them. I love everything about Christmas and what really makes me feel warm inside is making cards and gifts for all my loved ones and being with them for the holidays. But if I have to choose and ITEM, I'd say Christmas cookies and eggnog! *LOL*

Pat,
The stamps and the compositions are both gorgeous!!!

The holiday thing that most makes it for me is the look on the kids faces on Christmas day as they open their gifts!!! But, it's also in the music. My 1st language was German...even though I am American born. My Grandfather didn't speak much German, but he would ask my brother and I to sing Silent Night (Stille Nacht) to him in German, every Christmas. He died just after Thanksgiving, 20 years ago. Each time I hear that song, I cry for the memory of that wonderful man!!! Hearing it in German, I sob my heart out...not so much in sadness, but in the memory of him...and the great love that I still hold in my heart for him. It's like a message from Grampa..."I'm still here, and I remember". Merry Christmas, Rockin Robin Caldwell

Looking at our live Christmas tree - I can look at it for hours - it's relaxing and for me it's the biggest symbol of the holiday!

It's the tree with the lights on and those are the only lights on in the room. It is really magic when you just have the twinkle of the lights and the sparkle of the ornaments.

What makes me feel warm inside at the holiday season is making the trip back home to spend it with our family. Our twin 5 year old grand-nephews are especially a hoot.
Love your card.

Oh...and what makes me feel all warm inside is a shot of Amaretto. LOL! Seriously, Chrismtas morning, watching the kids go nuts (hopefully) for all of Santa's surprises, while drinking a nice double shot cappaccino (maybe with a shot of Amaretto!)

Wonderful stamps and you made a gorgeous card, Pat!!! Being with family and friends.. drinking hot chocolate or tea... and just enjoying being together.

Hi Pat -

The items that make me feel the coziest are the ornaments on the tree. Several of them have sentimental meanings. Like the ornaments that my mother-in-law gave us that were given to her when she was a child. Or the ornament that my son's first grade teacher made for him (a small portrait of him), he is now 35. We have an ornament for each of the pets we have had in our 36 years of marriage. The ornaments we bought when we first got married and when our son was born. Putting up the tree for us becomes a walk through Christmases past and brings memories of loved ones, those still here and those gone.

Enjoy your Holidays!

The holiday item that makes me all warm and fuzzy is when my husband and I watch It's a Wonderful Life every Christmas Eve evening after all our guests have left. It's always a great reminder that we all do have so many things to be thankful for! Thanks for the chance to win.

This is a PS, one entry, I did not see to say what Holiday, for me it is strange since I've been ill and housebound. I was always one of those do it all and never sit down types, now I am lucky if I can get up and with the kids gone, it's an effort for any holiday. So I choose from my memories past, my kids birthdays, my families birthdays and Christmas always!
I hope that makes sense.
