Technique Blitz: Shimmering Resist

Sometimes a technique comes along that really "catches my fancy." This is one of those: Shimmering Resist from the August 2008 issue of the
Technique Junkie Newsletter. I LOVE the subtlety of the resist combined with the soft shimmer. My favorite part of this technique is that it gets better as it dries! The resist portion really pops out...and the shimmer stays put.

Unfortunately, it is hard to catch the shimmer in a scan or picture, so if you are Technique Junkie, you will just have to try it yourself. I tried to catch a glimpse of the shimmer, below, so you will have to trust me!

All stamps from Innovative Stamp Creations.

I got my newsletter yesterday and this morning I was just checking out this technique... this is a stunning sample! LOVE it!! I may have to stamp tomorrow and play with it myself! Thanks for the inspiration, Pat!

I too have one very similar to the first card you have posted- the green one- different trim on the bottom- I am dying to try this- your card is just stunning IRL.....I tried to make a PE mixture, and it did not take too well- I oversprayed the shimmer and it overpowered the image underneath. Once I get some Perfect Pearls, I will 'go to town' with this technique!!!
