Make and Take at Marcos!

I am thrilled to announce that I am coming to Marco's Paper in Centerville OH this Friday (tomorrow)! The card above is the Make & Take Card we will be making while I am there. The card uses two techniques from the Newsletter: Gelato Direct, from the October 2011 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter, and Embossed Gelatos, one of the upcoming techniques from the April 2013 issue.

This sentiment on this card is from Verses Rubber Stamps, and the background and dragonfly are both from Impression Obsession.
If you are in the area, stop by and say hello!

And don't forget, this weekend we will be at the Indianapolis Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival:

Up, Up and Away!

I am so thrilled to be part of the first Club Scrap Blog Hop today! If you started at the Club Scrap blog, you are in the right place. If not, I urge you to take a moment to visit the Club Scrap blog -- not only to find out more about this hop, but to leave a comment for a great giveaway!

Today we are celebrating Club Scrap's February Kit: Up, Up and Away. If you have never experienced Club Scrap or Club Stamp, you are missing out on gorgeous paper, stamps and embellishments at a terrific value. This kit is no exception! I received my first kit in June 2002 and have been enamored ever since.

For today, I made three cards from the stamps and paper from the Up, Up and Away kit. I used the same focal image for all three cards -- I was going for a little bit of "the same-but-different" idea. I could have made many more cards from the kits, too -- all very different -- but I ran out of time!

All three of the cards use techniques from the newest Technique Junkie Newsletter CD: Simple and Easy Inking Techniques - Remix CD. It contains 30 tutorials culled from previously-published Newsletter issues. All of the techniques use just the most basic of supplies. The CD is only $9.95; more information can be found HERE.

A little about the cards:
The top card uses the Out of the Box Technique. Don't you just love that gorgeous background paper?

The middle card uses Color Sandwich Technique to get the two-toned effect from both the card and the popped balloon element.

The bottom card shows the Block Collage Technique. A little masking goes a long way!

Well, onward with the hop -- your next stop is Julie Heyer  (http://capecodscrapper.blogspot.com/) you will love her project!

Enjoy the hop, and thanks for stopping by today!

Shimmer Glimmer Sparkle and Shine Blog Hop!

Welcome! Today we celebrate the launch of the newest CD from the Technique Junkie Newsletter: Shimmer Glimmer Sparkle and Shine! If you came here from Nancy Dawson's blog, you have arrived at the last stop. I hope you loved what you saw! If I am your first stop, take a moment to stop at the TJ Design Team Blog to start the hop.

The Shimmer Glimmer Sparkle and Shine CD contains 40 tutorials and 5 primers featuring techniques using glitter, glimmer mists, foils, stickles and all things that shine and shimmer. I partnered with the fabulous Jane Bosi to create the CD -- Jane not only is a great designer, but she has wonderfully creative ideas and she writes a mean tutorial! We all benefit from her creative muse on this CD.

I chose to make two glitter techniques today. I wanted to make a few things that I didn't get a chance to make samples for when we were preparing the CD, so I chose two from designer Jane Bosi. The first one uses the Glitter Strips Technique:

I just received this fun kit from Club Stamp today and I couldn't resist this fun set of sayings!  Don't you just love the inside sentiment?

The second card I made for this hop uses the Lacy Glitter Leafing Technique, again using the Club Stamp Kit:

I hope this hop has helped you get an idea of some of the cool techniques on the CD. A full index of what is on it, with pictures for each of the techniques, can be found HERE.

The CD is $14.95 and can be ordered here:

In addition,  we are giving away a CD today too! To qualify, make sure to leave a comment on each of the hop pages -- and I will select a winner on Monday, February 28th. Good luck!

Mono Markers

It seems like it has been forever and a day since I have been able to make something that was not for a future tutorial in a Newsletter, or for a CD, or for a class. Truth be told, even this was made for the background initially! I am creating away in my studio, though... Prepping for some awesome things this Spring, Summer and Fall.

This card uses 2 TJ techniques -- the background is Herringbone, from the December 2010 issue, and the Hero Arts Flower was colored and cut out using the Mono Markers Technique from the current December 2012 issue.

I hope to post more often -- even though  I leave next week for a 10 day trip to Atlanta and Tampa for shows. Leave me a note if you are planning on attending either show -- I would love to meet you!

Great Gifts Super Blog Hop

It's a super hop! Today we have a joint blog hop between The Technique Junkie Newsletter, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and Eclectic Paperie. We are celebrating the three companies with what each of us does best! We are using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and paper/embellishments from eclectic Paperie to make an item from one of the 40 tutorials on the Technique Junkie Newsletter's Great Gift CD.

My post shows an example of the Flapped Matchbook Gift Box from the Great Gifts CD. The gift box is one of the 40 step-by-by-step tutorials on the CD, and is only $14.95 .  I love this box; is is a great size and holds quite a bit. Decorating it was easy, too, with Baby's Circus Stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The Lily Bee Design - Persnickety Paper and all the gorgeous flowers, buttons, and other embellishments are all from eclectic Paperie. (click on either image to enlarge it).

In addition to all of the beautiful artwork from the 16 people participating, we have prizes!
Each of the companies will be giving away a prize randomly drawn from their designers' blogs as follows:
  • EP: 25% discount on a future order
  • SNSS: $15 store credit
  • TJN: Great Gifts CD or any TJN CD of winner's choice
The winners will be posted on each company's blog by Sunday, December 9th.  To be included in the prize drawings, please comment by midnight Friday, December 7th.
