Day 21 of the 30 Days of Christmas

Three weeks already? As we approach the last week of the 30 days of Christmas, I am a little sad to see them go...

Today's card is a clean and simple  one.  I stamped the Berries Stamp (#S379) and colored it with Copic Markers, then added a sentiment by making and using the Peace on Earth Stamp (#SD429):

Remember that there is a 15% discount on ALL TJ stamps by using the coupon code XMAS15.

Day 18 of the 30 Days of Christmas

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are enjoying your day of thanks. Here is today's 30 for the 30 days of Christmas:
This card simply uses the Snowflakes set. You can get the snowflakes as one big background, or each of the 16 stamps individuallycut for you. You can find it HERE: S235. The Magic of Christmas sentiment can be found on the same page. I embellished this card with some glittery red snowflakes.

Thank you for looking -- see you tomorrow!

Day 17 of the 30 Days of Christmas

Today I bring you a simple card made by layering stamp over stamp. I used the Silent Night (S399)music stamp as a base, and stamped the Vintage Botanicals Holly (S334)  stamp over the top:

The base of the piece is a red mirrored cardstock that has been embossed with a snowflake folder. It is very dimensional in person.  I love this layered look -- I hope you do, too!

Remember to use XMAS15 at checkout from www.stampcamp.com to receive 15% off your ENTIRE purchase. Until tomorrow--

Day 15 of the 30 Days of Christmas

Welcome! Two weeks have gone by and we are halfway through the 30 days of Christmas. I have been out of town for the last 4 days, so if you missed the last four postings, you can catch up here: patstamps.blogspot.com.
Today we are celebrating the Angel Choir Stamp (#S592). I colored this stamp with regular markers, very simply in yellows, blues and gold.  Then I took the Peace Stamp from the Christmas Words set (#SS029), stamped and colored it, cut it apart and oriented it horizontally. That is what is great about those stamps -- they can be used vertically of horizontally.

Don't forget to use your coupon code XMAS15 to receive a 15% discount on all Technique Junkies Stamps!
I will be back in town tomorrow -- see you then!

Day 11 of the 30 Days of Christmas

Today's card is all about dimension!  I have this really cool window in my stamp line (SD299), and I just had this idea rolling around my head for a while to create a scene behind it. What better than a scene that evokes the warm, homey scene of little boys playing? In my head, we are Santa on Christmas Eve, waiting for the rambunctious boys to settle in for the night so that he can take his trip down the chimney...

When creating the window, I decided to cut the window piece completely, and use a stamped piece of acetate for the glass. When you peek into the window from the sides, you can see more of the boys playing:

The stamp used for the boys is called Pillow Fight (#SD324) and the sentiment is Magic of Christmas (#SD428).
Tomorrow we have a guest blogger -- see you then!

Day 10 of the 30 Days of Christmas

It's Day 10 of the 30 Days of Christmas - How about a little color?

This card uses the Glitter Strips Technique from the Glimmer Shimmer Sparkle and Shine CD.  I paired 3 different - and unlikely - stamps for the colored panels. The red panel uses the Big Swirls Stamp (S426), The smaller green panel uses the large Porcelain Crackle Stamp; and the bright green panel uses the Chicken Wire stamp (S393). I stamped and embossed Noel from the Christmas Words Set (SS029), then I cut it apart and matted them.

Tomorrow I have a VERY elaborate card to share with you - I can hardly wait!

30 Days of Christmas, Day 8

I can't believe that 8 days have already gone by! I hope you've enjoyed the cards so far. Obviously we have many more to come.

Today's card uses the Technique Junkies Christmas in Dots stamp (S470, $9.95). This was a very simple card. I stamped on a dark purple cardstock piece and embossed it in white. Then I added color to the tree, base and background using chalk. I added the colored gems as ornaments before mounting and matting the cardstock.
Until tomorrow-

30 Days of Christmas, Day 7

Today is Day 7 of the 30 Days of Christmas! Today I decided to use non-Christmas stamps to create my card.

The main part of this card uses the Birdie Tree Stamp (#S500, $9.95) as the main image.  I stamped the tree in brown ink on the kraft paper, then again on another sheet in red. I then covered the birds with Red Glass Glaze (from Viva Decor), and once they dried, I cut them out and placed them back over the brown birds.  The snow was made from a Marvy Snow Marker. I don't know about you, but I was bummed when I learned that Liquid Applique was not being manufactured anymore; it was my go-to tool for making snow.  I am here to tell you that the Snow Marker is almost EXACTLY the same thing! Apply, heat and, viola! Instant snow. In any case, here is the card:
The vertical sentiment is from the Simple Sentiments Set (#SS3C); Wonder is from the Dream Hope, Wish, Wonder, Set (SDX019).

Until tomorrow!

Day 6 of the 30 Days of Christmas

I am so thrilled to continue with the 30 Days of Christmas, where we are sharing Christmas Cards every day from November 10th through December 10th to celebrate the art of the handmade holiday card. In addition to the cards, I am also offering 15% off ALL Technique Junkies Stamps through December 10th with the code XMAS15.

Today's card uses the Vintage Botanicals Holly stamp (S334, $9.95). I used the Aged Tiles Technique from the Simple and Easy Inking CD to highlight the image and enhance its vintage look.  The berries were made with Viva Decor's Red Glass Effects. The ribbon is a piece of beige velvet layered over the pom=pom ribbon.

I hope you liked the card today. The Vintage Botanical line is one of my favorites (there are several different leaf stamps in the same ilk, you can find the others here).  I think the holly makes an especially pretty Christmas cards.
Until tomorrow!

Today I am thrilled to have a guest blogger for today's 30 Days of Christmas Post. Ann Clack, a  designer on the Technique Junkies Team, has created a to-die-for Christmas Card. You can see the full card HERE.
Here is a sneak preview of Ann's card:
Ann used the Angel of Annunciation (SD070)  for her main image.  I encourage you to go to Ann's blog to see the card in all it's glory - it is GORGEOUS!

Day4 - the 30 days of Christmas

Today we continue with the 30 Days of Christmas with a card that is quite traditional. I paired the Vintage Star (#S373) with the Christmas Words Set (#SS029) to create a simple panel. The Vintage star was stamped and heat embossed on a gold lustre panel, then matted in navy. I stamped the Peace sentiment in gold, embossed it, then highlighted the letters with blue marker.
Don't forget, by using the code XMAS15, there is a 15% discount on  ALL the Technique Junkies stamps until December 10th. Have a great day!

30 Days of Christmas, Day 3

Welcome back to the 30 days of Christmas! Today is day 3 and I am here to show you a stamp set that is in my stamp line that I used to hate! Yep, you read that right. When I acquired the Stamp Camp line a year ago, I was in love with most of the stamps in the existing line, but some of them were not my style. Or so I thought.
Then I started to play with them. With this set, the Christmas Stencil Set, in particular. Now I have to make an effort to put this set aside, because I have made several cards with it for the 30 days of Christmas and I have so many more sets to show you!
Today's card is the simplest I have made from this set:
An easy card, really. The set is $13.95 and comes with the Christmas icons (snowflake, tree, etc), along with a solid square and a solid circle:
Along with that set, I added the Merry Christmas Sentiment from the Simple Sentiments set:
Remember to use the discount code: XMAS15 to get 15%off of these stamps, along with all the stamps on my site, for the next 27 days.  Have a great one today!

Day 2 of the 30 Days of Christmas

Today is Day 2 of the 30 days of Christmas! Our card today uses non-traditional colors. The Technique Junkies  Peace on Earth Stamp (#SD429) was stamped in black over a piece of Gelato-colored cardstock, and matted on top of a background that uses the Big Swirls Stamp (#S427) that was stamped in black. I traced the swirls somewhat with a green marker to highlight them.

The Gelato-colored cardstock was made by placing several Gelato colors directly on a craft mat, spriting it with water, then smooshing the cardstock into the colors to pick them up.  Its an incredibly easy way to add intense color to cardstock.

Remember, all Technique Junkies Stamps are 15% until December 10th by using the code XMAS15.
See you tomorrow!
